About the artist

Hello! I am Mya D. Rojas, an artist based in Toronto, Canada. I spent the pandemic doing a Certification in the Foundations of Art and Design in George Brown College (had to pass the time somehow, right?), and with that under my belt, I was able to get into OCAD University! Currently, I’m about to graduate with a Bachelor's in Design, and will be exhibiting my work in May, along with many other students, in the university’s very own exhibition showcase, GradEx.​​​​

My art style is heavily inspired by animated film studios, such as Studio Ghibli for its magical atmosphere, Sony Animations for its vibrant colors, and the Golden Age of Disney for its linework, style, and aesthetic. First growing up with animated movies and shows, as well as art youtubers, and now making my mark in the world fresh out of University, I've come to find my own style. I'm a bubbly, outgoing person who loves vibrant colors, so translating that into my art, I use bright pinks and purples, and take a painterly approach with detailed scenery. I want the viewer to take away one simple little rule I like to live by: life is full of magic, if you know where to find it!
